Nuchal Translucency Test
What exactly does this test show? Is it a sonogram?

Yes, it's a sono paired with blood work. It's a measurement of the back of the baby's neck. The test is used as an indicator for Down Syndrome and Trisomy. It is done before the end of the first trimester. You will get a number such as 1 in X for your chances of carrying a baby with either disorder. It is not a diagnosis, just an analysis.
Also called an ultrascreen

I just had it done last tuesday
they prick your finger and take 5 drops of blood; along with the sonogram
it is done between 11 -13 weeks

mine was a regular bloodtest, but some docs do the finger prick
