NT SCAN at LIJ

I have my NT Scan in a couple weeks and wanted to know what to expect at LIJ. I know some girls were told the gender, did the techs at LIJ give that option if the baby is really cooperating? Did it take a long time to do the scan? Do they give the results right away or do I have to wait for a phone call?

I just had mine last week. We didn't ask about the gender and they didn't offer any info. THey did tell me when making the anatomy test appt to tell the tech if I didn't want to know. The scan took a while because the baby wasn't cooperating LOL so about 25 mins. The tech was awesome, so patient and sweet. After the scan I had blood work done, still waiting on those results, though I see my OBGYN in a week for my monthly check up so I'm sure we'll discuss it then. But she said the measurements from the u/s were normal.

I had mine at LIJ the tech asked us if we wanted to know. I didn't want to; but she said she had a clear shot. The scan took about a good 30 minutes. She was having a hard time getting the baby to lift his/her head so she could get the proper measurement she needed. I called my OB a few days later for the results.

I went. It took awhile because they couldn't see the baby's heart (the four chambers). She was stubborn.

A doctor came it after just to recheck, which at first I was nervous about, but then loving them rechecking and being extra good.

at my nt scan they didnt offer up the gender...they told me i had to wait until the 20 week anatomy scan.
i will warn you - both times i was there, we had a looooooonggg wait!!!
the first time we were told a tech called out sick and that was the delay (we ended up waiting 1 hr 45 mins), the second time we walked in for a 10am appt (they open at 9) and were immediately handed a beeper and told to come back in an hour. make sure you bring things to occupy your time!

They won't do gender at an my scan, it isn't accurate at that point from what I know. They start appointments at 8am, the earlier you can gey one the better, or the first appointment after they return from lunch (I think its 1pm) I had a 9am appt the other day and had a 15 min wait. The time before I had a 9:30 appt and there was an hour wait. It's hit or miss, but again, the earlier the better.

My NT scan there was about 30-40 mins. The baby was being uncooperative most of the time so they spent a lot of time trying to jiggle and reposition the baby. They told me the gender at the NT scan and they were right. But I know most of the time it is too soon to tell. I guess we lucked out.
