Knowing what I know now I would probably not have done it. Negatives... false positives and added worry. The blood work isn't 100% and can lead to uneccessary worrying. After getting a 1 in 13 result for Downs we opted to do a CVS, Downs was negative but we got a 50/50 for the baby having tetraploidy which can lead to the baby being stillborn. We did an amnio and we know now that the tetraploidy is not in the baby. So basically I was just a walking train wreck.
On the flip side, had something been wrong we would have been able to prepare ourselves for whatever that was.
It's really a personal decision but I will most likely not do it for our next baby.

For me; I would personally prefer to know if something is wrong or if we have any potential issues. I only contemplated not getting in when I thought my insurance might not cover it!

Honestly, I NEVER pass on an opportunity for a sono. I love seeing the baby and I feel better knowing that everything is progressing normally. More often than not, everything checks out okay and I am of the mindset that IF something were wrong, I would want to know in case there is a chance something can be done to fix the problem.

This. And I love seeing my moving...or sleeping, which is what he usually does during an u/s.

This is exactly what DH is worried about. I have a history of crazy test results so he's worried I'll be worried over nothing. He said its up to me but I'm definitely seeing his side....
