NT scan
im scheduled for mine in a few days, i was just wondering do you get the results right then and there or do they send it off to your Dr and they get back to you? if so, about how long before your dr gave you the results?
I am having the scan done at the katz center of north shore LIJ

Did you already have your bloodwork done? I had my blood taken 2 weeks prior so they called with the results. They gave me the results from the sono that day.

The tech isn't supposed to tell you anything as far as whether things look normal or what. They can tell you what you're looking at and give you the heartrate, etc. If they can determine the gender, they can let you know that. But as far as regarding the thickness of the fold, they're not supposed to tell you their perception of it. It's a combination of those measurements and the bloodwork that give you a risk # (ie: 1 in 10,000 or 1 in 250 or whatever it is) so usually the doctor has to give you that information. I got my results at my next OB appointment 4 weeks later.

NT scan
i had my NT Scan at the katz center - the sono tech did the actual scan, and then one of their doctors came in about 10 mins later and told me that everything was fine. I did the bloodwork that day and didn't hear back until about a week later, if i remember correctly.
ps: be prepared to have a semi-long wait over there. I waited about an hour for the NT Scan, and about the same for the Level II sono. And both appointments were early in the morning (i thoguht i'd be one of the first people there)
Have fun and good luck

Re: NT scan
I alsow went for my NT scan at LIJ Katz; the tech didn't tell us anything; and a doctor didn't come in to tell us the results. A week later I called my OB office and my doctor seemed surprised no one talked to us the day of the scan. But the results all came back normal. My OB said if there were any problem they would have called me.
Best of luck!!
BTW My appt was on a Wed. at 6pm. We got there at exact 6; were aiming for 5:45; but we hit traffic! We waited about 1/2 hour for them to call my name.

Re: NT scan
i had my NT bloodword done at 10 weeks so the results were available at the time of the U/S .. so yes, I got the results right there!
ETA - all ultrasounds are done right in my OBs office so I have the U/S and the tech gives all the info to the doc. Doc meets with us and gives us results.

Good to know as well! I am going on Wed for mine there and I have a 4pm appointment. Hopefully a doc comes in afterwards because I won't see my OB for like 3 weeks after the scan.

Re: NT scan
This time a dr came in and explained the preliminary results but only because I am of advanced maternal age (over 35 when delivering). With my first I was under 35 and had to wait until the blood test came back and got a call a few days later.

Re: NT scan
I had my NT scan at Katz LIJ also, a tech did most of the sonos but then a Dr came in and checked a few things also. She discussed with me there what the results were from the sonos. I had bloodwork done there and didnt get any call back in regards to those results. I did see my OB a week later and he said all my results were normal.

Re: NT scan
Am I the only one who had to do the blood test myself? I had to prick my own finger, put the blood drops onto a paper and mail it in.
Anyway, I sent the b/w in ahead of time. Next week I have my NT scan. The technician does the sono. Then I meet with a dr who gives me the results that day.
