NPR: New home for piano (ETA Pictures)
i know this isn't parenting related...but i don't really post anywhere else so i washoping for some help..
now that we have DD..we have a lot more stuff to fit in our small living room..so we have been getting rid of some furniture and trying to replace it with smaller furniture or things that can double as storage ..etc. The one thing i struggled with is my piano. i would have loved to save it in case DD wanted to take piano some day.. but honestly i can't afford the upkeep..and it takes up too much space. 
I was hoping to donate it.. but i'm having a hard time finding a place.. esp. one that will move it. (we don't have the extra money to have it moved.. .) I don't wanna just put it outside and hope some random stranger takes it..and i don't know if i like the idea of posting on craigs list. ( i've done it before..but never with something that required people coming to my house..DH isn't thrilled with that idea. ) but it has to go..and soon!
Does anyone know a place that will take donations?? or anyone in need of a piano??? It's yours if you can have it moved... TIA

That's so sad.
I was ready to jump and FM you that I would take it. But then I looked around and duh, I'm in the same situation, no room! I hate this. I had a piano the house whole time I was growing up, even when we were dirt poor.
I so feel your pain.

that's why i was so afraid to get rid of it.. i love having one. My mom bought this one for me when i was 7 and started piano lessons. I'm afraid if we get rid of it ..we'll never have one again.
But the wood looks worn...and it needs some work. and i can't afford to get it tuned and refinished..etc. So i figured donating it or giving it to another family who can't afford a new piano would be worth it.

Thanks for the replies ladies. The few places i looked at/called either didn't have room/need for a piano, wouldn't move it, or only wanted it if i could have it tuned first..etc. which i understand...but if we could afford to do all of it.. i'd fix it and find some way to keep it. i'll keep trying though.
at this point i'm just willing to give it to whoever is willing to take it....

I have a client who got a piano from Craigslist. I know that she had a piano company go and get it for her and delivered it to her house. I forget exactly how much it cost her but it wasnt very much in the grand scheme of things...
