November Craft Ideas...
Just a followup/spinoff to the thread asking if everyone does crafts with their toddlers.
Maybe we can start a monthly thread. I will take the job of starting it if anyone would like. We can share some ideas of things to do craft wise this month and anyone can add on any ideas that they'd like!
November is a fun month with Fall being in full swing and Thanksgiving on it's way!
Thanksgiving wreath --- start with red, orange, yellow, green and brown paper. Trace your child's hand and then cut it out on several colors of paper. Then take a thin paper plate, cut out the middle. Have your child glue the hands going all around the plate, to make a wreath. On one hand write down what the child is thankful for ex: "I am thankful for my baby brother." You can also decorate with ribbon, glitter glue, stickers.
Hand Turkeys -- trace the child's hand. Add a googley eye and a smile to the thumb, yellow construction paper feet and feathers to the other fingers to make it look like a turkey!
Paper Bag Turkeys -- Take a small paper lunchbag and have your child color stripes on the one end...where it opens up. Once it is colored stuff some crumpled newspaper in one end and tie with ribbon. Take the colored end where the bag opens and cut slits in it so that when fanned out it looks like feathers. Use marker or crayon to draw a mouth, add an orange construction paper beak, red gobble, and googley eyes on what is the "bottom" of the bag which becomes the turkey's face.
Painted Handprint Turkeys --- dip your child's hands in brown paint and make a print on white paper. Have them use their fingertip to make green grass. Then once it is dry add construction paper turkey claws, eyes, beak, gobble and use feathers or cut out construction paper feathers to decorate the turkey.

Re: November Craft Ideas...
Tissue Paper Fall Trees -- cut out a tree trunk with brown construction paper and the top part of the tree with green construction paper. Have your child glue them together. Then take small pieces of red, orange, brown and yellow tissue paper --- cut them into one inch squares. The child can put a drop of glue on the tree, crumple the tissue paper and stick it to the tree. When it is done it will look like a beautiful fall tree with changing colors.
