Re: Notifying Insurance

I am not sure if I really "notified" them but I had a list of pre-printed questions that my doctor gave me that I had to get the answers to and hand it back to them at my first official visit regarding coverage - what tests they would cover, how many sonograms, how long hospital stay I am allowed, etc.

Re: Notifying Insurance

I called GHI recently and they told me that my DH has to fill out paperwork and give to his HR department/payroll dept and they will submit it to them when the baby is born.

DH's partner's told my DH that the baby is covered automatically for 30 days and DH has 30 days to submit paperwork from the hospital to his job.

That is what we were told to. I actually just called my insurance today to confirm that I don't need to complete a pre-hospitalization approval, how many days I am in hospital, and if lactation needs are covered.
