nothing
the nurse called me to tell me that i dont have to come back until tues or wednesday for monitoring because nothing changed. they said monitor this weekend with the opk. i said i had two positives with the opks already. and i said what am i not going to ovulate? and they said well since your cycle is 38 days you dont ovulate until day twenty something. im just very confused. i went from years of 31 day cycles to 38 day ones all of a sudden. i dont know when i ovulate. i dont know what happens if you dont ovulate...do you still grow follicles? do you still get periods? i have no idea what my numbers where my follicle size was/is. i saw a 16.5 number or a follicle i think but i dont remember the cycle day. you know when something is new and you have no idea what to expect? i feel like an idiot sometimes but this is all so new and strange to me....and it just makes me sad :( and then i do not know if i am overreacting because ok, you are having 38 day cycles now so maybe i didnt ovulate yet. i know alot of you girls have gone to hell and back with this infertility thing and i give you so so so much credit. im lucky in the fact i have a very beautiful baby boy already. so if its meant to be it will be. pity party for me ........

Re: nothing
Awwww....I'm sorry you are going through this. Is it possible to talk to your RE (not a nurse) sometime tomorrow? I'm not sure who you are seeing, but you should be able to find out the size of the follies. The follicles aren't considered mature and ready to release until they are over 20mm. I honestly don't remember how mine grew when I was just on Clomid, but I did always ovulate on CD21 - 23 on Clomid. Your cycles may be getting longer for a number of reasons - age, stress and the medications you are taking. As far as the OPK's, they aren't always reliable. As long as your RE is monitoring you and checking your blood, they will have a better idea as to when you are really going to ovulate.
Good luck....

Re: nothing
Julieann- I am so sorry you going through this but I think its unacceptable that you are getting +OPKs and they arent having you come back until Tuesday or Wednesday. I would think you would have ovulated by then. If it wasnt a holiday weekend would you have gone back sooner??
There is no reason you should have all these questions. I would seriously re-exam your RE. If you dont mind FM where you are going.... I have my suspcions.
You are growing a follicle, you can ovulate on your own or you can take a trigger shot to make the follice release the egg.
You can not ovulate and then the follicle will just get too mature, and physicologically I am not sure what happens to it.

Re: nothing
I'm sorry this is all getting so stressful for you! I've never had a problem with the office answering my questions (or repeating things 3x when I needed them to) so I would call tomorrow and ask your questions. This is not a medicated cycle, right? By charting or OPKs before the RE did you O around day 20? I would also want to know why the OPKs were positive but the bloodwork, which would be more reliable, doesn't match up...just false positives?
