DD#2 (19.5 months) all of a sudden now doesn't want to nap in the afternoons. I put her down the same time each day but she just plays and says NO NAP mommy. I put her down around 145 - she used to go down between 2 and at the latest 3. Now she plays and plays and I give up around 4.

The problem? She is then crying and exhausted by 430 or even 5pm rarely she makes it to 515. That is way too early to go down for the night - but I can't allow her to take her 2-3 hour nap (Yes if you wake her before 2 hours she cries for 1 hour straight) at 430 or 5pm. DD#1 never did this so I'm not sure what to try. I tried waking her up earlier (she now sleeps until 715-730 - but then she is just cranky in the mornings AND late afternoons. She doesn't transition so putting her in the car for a short drive doesn't work b.c then she cat naps and is still upset around 5 or 530.

DD#1 still naps most days (they go down the same time but DD#1 will play quietly if she doesn't sleep). So it isn't like her sister is up and she wants to be.

Any suggestions? Oh she is climbing out of the crib - which doesn't help matters.
