this is interesting. agreed, not surprising but I found it interesting because just by reading the headline, I sort of assumed that it was the moms-to-be who we're financially motivated due to insurance benefits paying out an extra 2 weeks to women who have c-sections vs. natural.

I know for me, I hope to have a natural birth. but I can't quite ignore the voice in the back of my head that says I'd get paid 8 weeks instead of 6 if I ended up with a section. plus I know a lot of women who intended to have natural births but labored and for one reason or another, ended up having emergency c-sections anyways. all anyone can truly hope for is a healthy baby, right?

in any case, good food for thought.
