Not sure what to do...
DH & I told our families this weekend that we're expecting since we wanted to wait for Grandparent's Day. Anyway, I'm not sure when to tell work. I work for a nationwide company and our Policy Guide states in part... "As soon as a due date is known, the associate should notify their Occupational Health Nurse Specialist and request that their physician complete a Pregnancy Confirmation Statement." I had my doctor complete the form 2 weeks ago and it's sitting in my desk drawer. Any suggestions? I'll be 10 weeks on Wednesday. Thanks!

If you are not showing I would wait until at least 12-15 weeks. They do not need to know before the 1st trimester ends.

What is the downside of telling them?

I told my job before I was 12 weeks, I had to, but I was so sick that my co worker had to hold my hair back
How would they even know WHEN you found out?

Re: Not sure what to do...
They'll know from my physician's statement that's dated 8/28/07.
I have another MD appt in 2 weeks and for the last 2 appts, since they're during business hours, I made up dentist appointment excuses. I figured if I said MD appointment, the wheels might start turning. I hate to keep "white lying" but I don't really want them to know.

Re: Not sure what to do...
Why don't you hand the note in after your next OB appointment. If they question the date, tell them that you gave the form to your physician to fill out at one appointment and picked it up at the next. No big deal.

Re: Not sure what to do...
I re-read this...and as of this statement: "As soon as a due date is known, the associate should notify their Occupational Health Nurse Specialist and request that their physician complete a Pregnancy Confirmation Statement."
I see that you did exactly what was asked of you. It doesn't say that you have to let WORK know when you get this signed...it just says get it filled out and signed.
As for the date, they could have filled it out on 8/28, but only given it to you at your next appointment. Wait to tell work as long as you want.
