Not parenting related but thought I would ask: debt

Anyone know a real debt consolidation company? A friend is trying to do something before going bankrupt and I know her and I don't trust all the debt companies. So I'm just trying to help by asking if anyone knows of a legit one. Thanks

Is she trying to consolidate or settle her debt for less than what she paid? If she is consolidating I used a company called community credit counseling corp a while back and they were great. They called and got all my interest rates lowered but they do charge I think a $50 fee a month. Also all credit cards will have to be closed out. I know you can do it yourself but I didn't bother doing it. I find it much harder to negotiate with credit card companies esp since I was never late with payments I just had a lot of cards and a lot of debt and I wanted one payment and lower interest rates

Thanks I will forward the info. I'm not sure what she is looking to do for sure but I know she has high interest, and a lot of debt she can't afford to pay right now. So anything will help
