we always stay in myrtle. i love it. dh hates it. too beachy and trashy for him. he likes seclusion on the beach.

so we moved up to n. myrtle. better.

this weekend stayed at surfside beach. really nice. very family friendly. no smoking in restaruants..which is huge for us. 5 miles south of myrtle so still close to fun.

myrtle at night can get seedy quickly.

We have a condo in the Southern part of Myrtle Beach (bordering Surfside) and just took DS there. It was great.

We spend very little time in Myrtle itself but, find the entire area to be family friendly. We usually go south to the Murrell's inlet area for dinner.

I have done both- Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head Island. My MIL used to live in Hilton Head so we went each year. My parents own a condo in Myrtle.

Personally I love Hilton Head and find it much nicer than Myrtle.

North Myrtle is more kid (younger kid friendly). There are a lot of teenagers in Myrtle.

Outbanks, Topsail island, etc... it's all families.
