Re: North Bellmore
The first thing that came to my mind was, "Long Island's Best Kept Secret!" We are buying in North Merrick because I teach in North Bellmore but I love North Bellmore. Schools are great (6 elementary schools), caring community, cute town, close to train....FM me if you have any specific questions.

I live in North Bellmore and we love it. The schools are great, the library has some great programs for the kids, LIRR is close and an easy ride with plenty of parking. You are close to the parkways and some great parks. FM me if you have some specific questions.

I don't have children yet, but the schools are great. Plenty of shopping, proximity to highways, LIRR, etc. Haven't regretted my move here AT ALL!

Re: North Bellmore
I live in N. Bellmore, in the Old Britton Estates section.
I love it! It's very convenient to everything (near southern state, sunrise highway, jerusalem ave, newbridge rd., etc.).
Bellmore Village is a cute area with stores, restaurants, ice cream and candy stores, movie theaters. There is a theater that puts on community theater productions, including really cute children's shows.
There are a lot of family-friendly activities, such as a Halloween parade in the village with trick or treating at local stores, the fall street fair hosted by the Chamber of Commerce, the Strawberry Festival in June, etc.
I commuted to the city when I was practicing law, and it was a great commute. A lot of express trains to Penn Station from Bellmore.
N. Bellmore and S. Bellmore have the same zip code - 11710 - so N. Bellmore is really a school district distinction. There are 6 elementary schools in N. Bellmore (K through 6). Both N. and S. Bellmore students go to Grand Ave. Middle School for grades 7 and 8, and then Mepham High is the North Bellmore high school.
N. Bellmore is fairly geographically large - - starts just north of Sunrise and goes up to N. Jerusalem Rd. (which is the border between N. Bellmore and East Meadow).
My real estate office is located on Jerusalem Ave. in N. Bellmore (Century 21 Dallow). Feel free to contact me if you have any specific questions about N. Bellmore or are thinking of starting a house hunt here. This is my local market, so I really know the inventory here, and I am happy to help!
