No teeth?
Dd is 10.5mos and toothless! At her 9mos check up the doctor said there were none in sight either.
She eats purées that I make but is definitely interested in real people food which I give in tiny pieces and watch her like a hawk because I am so scared of choking.
Has anyone had experience with this? When did they finally come in? My girlfriend said if they don't come in the dr will cut the gums to make them come through which sounds scary.

Re: No teeth?
DD didn't get a tooth until after 1 year old. Ped was never concerned. She started eating table food way before that. At that age they use their gums to mash food...not their teeth.

Re: No teeth?
My friend said that all three of her boys cut their teeth really late, the earliest was 11 months (her middle son) and the other were just about 12/13 months. There is still time, i wouldn't worry!! It's one of those things that have such a range!!
My first son cut his first at 7 months and my second son at 9

No teeth?
DS will be 11 months on Sunday and still has no teeth!! I don't think they are coming anytime soon either! I give him table food. He chews well with his gums. He just has a hard time biting off pieces of food so I cut everything small for him. I'm due with baby #2 in November and I think I going to have a newborn and a teething maniac!

Re: No teeth?
My dd got her first at 11m and they came in 2 at a time. She didn't get her top 2 until 13m. She's been eating table foods since she was 7 months old... Don't worry too much. She can gum the food. Teeth are over rated

Re: No teeth?
My DS just turned 1 on the 3rd. He got his first tooth a week before his birthday. And it was on top! Within the next week and a half he got two more. He now has four top teeth. The two bottom look like they should be coming in any day.
I waited pretty long to introduce table food by I was so nervous since he had no teeth. Big mistake. Getting him to eat regular food is such a pain. All he wants is puréed, try doing small pieces a lil at a time and duff types of food

Same here - DD was 13 months ( so was I).! She ate everything with her gums. Don't worry

Re: No teeth?
Okay thanks I feel better now!
She eats table food but I give her the tiniest of pieces at a time because I didn't think she could chew, just mash with her gums.

Re: No teeth?
My kids didn't get their teeth until very late...
Our dentist said its a good thing (less time for teeth to get exposed and form cavities).
I've never heard of people cutting gums for teeth to come in.
Even when teeth do come, it's biting teeth (front). The chewing ones come much later... So you have to cut food so that it's swallowed for a long time.

Re: No teeth?
Some kids are teethers. 2 out of 3 of my kids got their first tooth between 13.5 and 14.5 months old. And all three didn't finish getting all their teeth until 3ish. The oldest even got his 6 yr molars between 7 and 7.5 yrs old...we are always a year behind.
My doctor was never concerned. They had said not a cause to worry/think anything before 18 months old.
Oh - and all my kids were on table food primarily by 12 mos old. My youngest probably earlier! Food cut really small for a long time...they gum away at everything!

I've never seen any kids or adults without teeth, so I wouldn't worry...they will come in eventually! Babies don't really need teeth to eat at first. Just keep giving her small, soft table food and she'll gum it fine.
