No sac at almost 5 weeks?

Not for me although I hope to be over here one day soon.

My friend found out she was pregnant on Monday. Her lmp was 9/21 although she's almost positive she conceived on 10/14 which puts her at the tail end of 4 weeks (about 4 weeks 5 or 6 days). She went for a sono today and the dr saw no sac. She did see thickening of the lining but nothing else. The dr mentioned possible ectopic but she's going to do another scan in 2 weeks. I thought almost always you see a sac at 4 weeks especially towards the tail end. Anyone have any experience?

I went at 4 weeks and they didn't see a sac. I go in a week for another sono. they told me it was too early last week. I hope to see something next week.

Did she go for blood work?
With my second pregnancy I had no clue how far long I was. I had a sono done and blood work at my first appt. The sono showed nothing. He *thought*he saw a sac but I swear there was nothing there. Later that day he called and said judging from my beta and sono, he out me in the 4wk range. I went back a week later amd there was a sac and HB. At that point I measured 5w6d.
I think that a sac appears usually if your HCG is over 1000. But I could be wrong
