No response card with wedding invitation -
Is this the new trend? DH received a wedding invitation today from someone who works for him. The invitation wasn't mailed, it was left on his desk. Instead of an RSVP card, there is a website on the back - RSVPify, where we are supposed to RSVP.
Just wondering if this is the new way?

Yup. I've gotten 2 like that this year.
One actually had a response card, email address, website, and a Facebook invite that people could choose to respond to.

idk maybe I am more traditional, but I hate this lol... I like the idea of RSVPing on paper, not online. To me, a wedding is a formal event and RSVPing online is so informal. RSVPing online reminds of e-vite or something.
It definitely saves money on postage for the RSVP card, though so I'll give them that!

I received one that had the response card and it asked to send an email. I think that is a great idea.

Re: No response card with wedding invitation -
Yes, the last few weddings we've been invited to were like this. To be honest, it's probably a lot easier for the bride and groom to keep track of RSVP's this way, plus it saves on paper and stamps. I agree - I'm traditional and prefer mailed RSVP's, which is why we did it that way. It seems more "formal" to me. But I can totally see the benefit of doing it via a website.

Re: No response card with wedding invitation -
I am a traditionalist so I would not be a fan. My one question would be - what if someone doesn't have a computer - how are they going to rsvp?

I'm sure anyone who doesn't have a computer can ask another close relative to RSVP for them. That's how my grandmother RSVP'd for my brother's wedding...she just asked my mom to log onto the site and rsvp yes for her.

You would have to know how to use a computer to do that.

People tend to answer much quicker with a computer than by mail. Although I'm very traditional in my ways, I think the link is a great idea.
