No progress...
I had my 38 week appointment today and I was kind of hoping they would tell me we had some progress but still only 1cm... So I know these things can change at a moment's notice but with 10ish days to go until the due date, if nothing changes would you keep working until the baby comes or just up until your due date? I feel fine I just think if I pass my due date being at work is going to be depressing/annoying!
Also I hate that the only time I feel crampy is right after these stupid internals. I mean, it's 2013 there has to be a better way to check things out down there!! 
And I had a random NYC crazy yell "LOOKING GOOD SEXY PREGO!" at me when I was getting out of the cab to go back to work. Soooo that is always nice...

No progress...
if i felt better id work... but i feel awful so today really is my last day... but since i know im not going past my edd it makes it a little easier to make that decision.

You never know what can happen. My water broke and I was not dialated or anything!!!!! Hang in there!

that's exactly how I made mine - knowing I had an induction date

G.... can you ask them if you can stick to being in LI and not have to travel into the city until the baby comes? Seems like a reasonable request at this point?
And then you always have the comfort of knowing I am just around the corner just in case..... assuming I don't go before you!

It was almost as amazing as his 90's grunge flannels he refused to part with.
Christine, they actually said it's up to me what office I want to work out of but I still have to go in once a week to see my doctor  poor planning on my part.

You already know this, but I was in the same boat with not progressing. I worked 4 days past my due date, but my office is a 10 min walk, so wasn't a big deal. However, it was annoying to have all my coworkers say things like, "wow, you're still here?" and "where's the baby?". As if I want annoyed enough being 40+ weeks! But, I refused to take off any of my maternity leave before Sophie's arrival, so that's why I kept working.

Same happened to me. I was 0% dialated, 0% effaced, yet my water broke. No idea how. but I had to be induced and 45 hrs later, out came the biggest love of my life. (Also, 2 days before my water broke, I had a similar appt...doc said my cervix showed no sign of being ready).

With my first, went to my almost 39 week appt and found DS was breech. I was not looking at all like anything was going on so they scheduled me to come in the following Tuesday (holiday weekend and this was a Friday) to try and turn him and induce but the next morning around 3:30, my water broke. They had me come into the hospital since he was breech and they needed to do a Csection. I did have contractions and DS was born at 8:48 AM. Not sure how dilated or effaced or whatever I was, but the contractions were getting...well, strong as far as I could tell. But not having a chance to go any further, I don't know how bad it would have gotten. So, yes, even though it didn't look like I was anywhere near ready, DS felt differently.

ETA- I was planning on working until that baby fell out! But I was lucky that I had an easy pregnancy and even that far along, besides my swollen feet and a little back pain from trying to sleep, I wasn't too uncomfortable.
