Whoa. This is just cruel.

Over the weekend, Nick and Aaron Carter's sister Leslie was laid to rest in a small ceremony in Upstate New York. She passed away last week, presumably of an overdose, and it's been a very difficult time for the whole Carter family. One would think that the death of someone everyone held so dear would bring thus dysfunctional family closer together, but it seems that it has only driven a further wedge.

See, we heard that Nick did not attend the funeral while so many other family members, including Aaron, were present and we thought that was odd. Now, we've learned from Nick that the reason he did not say his final good-bye to his little sister was because he wasn't told the time and place. Nick explains:

“I wanted to be at my sister’s funeral, but my family has always had a complicated dynamic. There are so many emotions for me surrounding the loss of my sister. I am trying to stay healthy, positive, and focused.”

How hard. To be alienated from your family in a time like this, of so much pain and sorrow. And what's more, to be deliberately left out of a chance to make amends and pay final respects. That's just inconceivable to us.

If this can't bring his family together, we don't know what will. At least he got the chance to paid tribute to her in his own way.
