No one told me about drinking that STUFF!
Did anyone else have to drink the CITRATE magnesium stuff before ER? I am scared!!!

The nurse at the RE told me to drink the sulfate magnesium to ---sorry for a lack of better term--- clean me out! YUCK!

This is kind of off topic, but I was told to drink that stuff to clean me out before my laparoscopy. Supposedly it reduces the gas in the abdomen, which will give more room to reach the ovaries. GL!

Yikes! I didn't have to do it - but I have heard that if your ovaries are high or obstructed from view they will ask you to do a bowel prep. Sorry you had to do it!

i had to drink it before my c-section, but not before ER. its to neutralize stomach acid. i think it depends on the anesthesia used.

I had to drink that stuff before both of my ERs. Hello....nasty! My only suggestion is to make sure it's really cold. That made it slightly more tolerable.

I had to drink that stuff before both of my ERs. Hello....nasty! My only suggestion is to make sure it's really cold. That made it slightly more tolerable.
Of course I came on after I drank it! It was not that bad to drink...it felt/tasted like really carbonated seltzer.
If it was cold I would have liked it better.
Guess I am not leaving the house for a while!
