Nikon DSLR owners do you use UV protection filter?
Do you just leave it on? or put it on when you go out ?

To me, the UV filter has one purpose - to add extra protection to the lens if it accidentally gets dropped or scratched. I have two - one for each lens - and I never take them off.

All the time. If I am shooting outdoors, I may switch ot and put on my polarizing filter, but it's my UV filter on all the time.

The only time I've taken it off is in humid weather where I had to defog it. Otherwise never.
My camera bag was hanging on the back of a seat & fell off (maybe 2 feet at most)? My filter was shattered. Lens was safe.

Yup, we leave it on too...I have 2, and they stay on both of my lenses.
