i am wondering when you stopped feeding your LO their bed time bottle?
DD is a year and we snuggle in her rocking chair as i feed her the bedtime bottle and then i put her in her crib. just wondering when she should start to take that bottle on her own (she currently feeds herself her afternoon bottle)

I don't know if this is the *right answer - but all three if my kids stopped their nighttime bottle when they gave up the bottle - a couple of months after they turned 2 - I liked how it settles them down and gets them into bedtime mode!

Mine get a bottle about 30 min before bedtime but they hold it themselves. I lay them in the play yard on boppys. (16 mo)

night time bottle feeding

My dd is 20 months and i dont plan to stop anytime soon. My dd has been really been great at letting me know when shes ready for something or ready to give up something so i know she will let me know when shes done with that last bottle.
Shes down to only that bottle.

When we dropped bottles cold turkey at 17 months is when my DD stopped the nighttime bottle. Chat Icon

ETA - She held her bottles on her own at 6 months so she would feed herself the bottles while in her highchair or laying on the couch with us. I never gave a bottle to her in her crib. She had her last bottle about an hour before bed.

We stopped bottles at a year, but DS is 15 months and still has a cup of milk before bed.

DD dropped her own bottle at night before one i am pretty sure we held it for her cause we would give to her before putting her in her crib. I personally would never give DC a bottle in the crib.

Re: night time bottle feeding

My DD is 16 months and we're still doing the bedtime bottle. I thought I'd be the type to cut her off cold turkey the day after her first birthday, but I just can't bring myself to do it! She holds her baba while I hold and snuggle her in the glider and it's my very favorite part of the whole day!

Stopped feeding him the bottle ourselves at 9-10 months. Stopped giving him a bottle at 12 months. But he still gets milk in a glass an half hour to hour before bed and he is 23 months.

DS is 13 months and I don't foresee stopping that nighttime bottle anytime soon. However, I said that about a lot of things when he was younger, and eventually, he just grew out of those things. I will wait until he's ready to stop taking the nighttime bottle. I don't see any reason to push it. Milk is good for their brain development so I see no reason to stop that bottle.

Re: night time bottle feeding

DD stopped wanting anything to do with her bottle once we switched to milk at 12 mos. we started giving her a cup with milk (she only has a few sips from it...), and give her a big helping of yogurt before bed.

night time bottle feeding

My DD is 18 months, and I'm not stopping anytime soon, unless she quits it on her own. This is my favorite time of the day, she unwinds and almost always goes in her crib awake.

ETS: it's a bottle of whole milk. Everything else is from a straw sippy.
