Night Sweats

So, for the last year or so (I just turned 40) I get night sweats for a couple of nights leading up to my period. It is always and only for one or two nights and right before my period.

Has anyone else experienced this or know what causes it or what i can do to prevent it? Is it the beginning of menopause?

ETA: Spoke to my doc and he said it was fluctuations in hormones that my body has a harder time adjusting to after having kids/ getting older etc. Has anyone been successful in reducing the night sweats or eliminating them ..i.e. diet , or over the counter pills etc?

I don't get nights sweats I always get a hot flash like thing a few days before my period. It doesn't last long, I just feel hot and i NEVER feel hot so I know it's hormone related.
I also get a wave of nausea or queasiness sometimes on that same day
But I feel like i have been getting that for years, so I am not sure it's related to peri menopause.

But yes, the night sweats and other symptoms are related to peri menopause which can start 10 years before actual menopause.

Same here!!! I just started getting them (41) just the three days leading up to my period like clockwork. This is new to me too! I didn't really find much about it online.

I am 35 and have been getting them probably for a decade around the time I get my period. For me, it is not linked to menopause as my levels are normal. It's linked to the drop in progesterone that happens right before you get your period. It has actually gotten better since o had my son 3 years ago.

I had these for a bit when I was close to turning 40. Not every month, but right before my period. I haven't had one in a couple of years though now!

I've gotten this since I was in my 20's at the start of my period. I think it's just hormones but of course that could be related to menopause.

I've been getting these for the past few years. I'm 36. I get it not leading up to but the whole time I have my period. every month. I have a diminished ovarian reserve so I will be going through menopause on the early side i'm told.

But it sucks! i'm drenched each night. so gross.

I have this too started a couple years ago. Only happens before my period. I'll wake up drenched and change my sleepwear and spread a new top sheet. I am mid 40's now. My gyno said its the hormone fluctuation at that time.

I got them for a while when I was in my early 40s. Around 45 they stopped. I'm now 50 and they have started up again.
