Nice day...and I'm pregnant
Ok, so last year on a day like this, I would def be at Gilgo with my husband, in my bathing suit, having some fun. Now, I'm pregnant. Not saying that's a bad thing, I've just the preggo tummy obviously, plus im close to 40 lbs heavier than I was, so it's not just cute preggo tummy, I'm heavier everywhere and feel big, and uncomfortable and look bad in everything. So needless to say, the LAST thing I want to do today is go to the beach, esp one with a bunch of 18-25 yr old girls wearing a size 0 lol. So here is my question (sorry for the "i'm large rant). For ladies who were pretty far along during the summer time, what did you and DH do for fun?

I was pregnant over the fall and winter, so no first hand experience, but I say get yourself a cute bathing suit and go enjoy the day!

Re: Nice day...and I'm pregnant
I just didn't care and went to the pool/beach EVERY day...
But IDC what people think, it was the best thing ever, I swam laps every day to keep my pregnancy weight down...

Re: Nice day...and I'm pregnant
I gained 62 lbs and was the more comfy in my bathingsuit than I ever was! I had always struggled with my weight, always wanted to lose 10-15 lbs. When I ws pregnant, I didn't care at all!!!!
Now, pp, that's a different story - now I'm not preggo, just fat
Enjoy your pregnancy! It goes by fast, don't waste a beautiful day!

Re: Nice day...and I'm pregnant
When are you girls going to realize that pregnant is beautiful??!!!
Embrace it!!!!!
I guess as someone who is more than 100 lbs. overweight, and more comfortable in her own skin now more than EVER, I don't understand why you'd hide indoors on a beautiful day.
Now I know that being HUGE during the summer is uncomfortable--we went to an outdoor festival yesterday in 85 degree heat and I was super uncomfortable...but the beach is a whole other story.
Take a piece of advice from a fat lady and don't care so much about what other people think.

Re: Nice day...and I'm pregnant
My dd was born middle of September. I am a 10/12 when not pregnant. Last summer I sported a bikini. I slathered on the 50+ spf sunscreen and rocked that bathing suit I say show off your beautiful pregnant body. People will be checking out your baby bump and preggo boobs not anything else.

Re: Nice day...and I'm pregnant
I had DS at the end of July. I didn't give it much thought really. Granted, I live in England and it's a bit cooler here, and we weren't at a beach or pool or anything. But in general, I think being pregnant was kind of liberating. You don't have to worry about hiding any little rolls or anything because everything is just one big roll, LOL!
Also I know you feel huge now - I totally did. But in hindsight, I think I was quite tiny and wish I had taken more pictures, wasn't as shy, etc. You'll probably feel the same

Re: Nice day...and I'm pregnant
I only went in my mom's pool the summer I was pregnant. I don't need to look at skinny ppl while I have a huge ball belly
I'm pregnant again (due very soon) and still wouldn't go to the beach, I just don't feel comfortable.

Re: Nice day...and I'm pregnant
I went to the pool all the time. Not the beach so much b/c I don't swim in that water and it was just too hot. Still went out to dinner and such. Nothing was that different except for not being able to drink.

Re: Nice day...and I'm pregnant
I got a cute bathing suit and I plan on going to the beach and pool whenever anyone is down to go! Who cares? People can see that your belly is big if you are in a bathing suit or in a parka at this point (speaking for myself at least) so I may as well enjoy my summer!

Same for me!! Pregnant is beautiful! We did the same things we always did-minus the drinking for me.

Re: Nice day...and I'm pregnant
DD was born in August and by the end of it all I didn't even care, I loved my belly and boobs! The arse was a different story but I bought a cover up! As for going out with DH we still did everything but I would get tired so easily so I was always home early!

Re: Nice day...and I'm pregnant
It eventually gets to a point where, your sooooo hot that you don't care anymore what you look like and just want to be comfy so sit back and enjoy the beach and being preggo and who cares if everyone else is a size 0. You have a beauful baby coming soon and it is sooo worth it.

Re: Nice day...and I'm pregnant
I am due 9/9.
In a few weeks we have a trip planned to the beach & I plan on rocking a bikini, cause I refuse to buy a pregnancy one. I am not compltely comfortable about it yet, but I refuse to miss out on the fun or wear shorts and t-shirts at the beach or pool.
This is the one time I don't feel self conscious about my body.....I'll save that for next summer when I am working hard to lose the bump!!!
