Re: NFR: Sangria anyone?
There have been a bunch of recipes on the Recipe board...but I have an easy one if you have the ingredients and its super tasty...
1 bottle red wine 4 oz. grand marnier (or brandy) 8 oz. triple sec 8 oz. orange juice 4 oz. ginger ale
Mix in a pitcher and garnish with lemons, limes, and oranges.
Just talking about it...I could go for some now!

Re: NFR: Sangria anyone?
so funny you mention this.... that was my first booze post partum, and DH just saw the pictures, and we want more!
this is the traditional recipe.... (no soda in the original!) red wine (something fruity and spanish) thinly sliced oranges and limes (maybe apple, but that's not traditional!) brandy orange juice
I forget the proportions, just play around with it.... nothing like sampling as you cook

Re: NFR: Sangria anyone?
Found it!
This Sangria recipe is perfect for big summer parties - always a favorite, you may consider doubling the recipe. Prep Time: 0 hours, 5 minutes Ingredients: 1 Bottle of red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Rioja, Zinfandel, Shiraz) 1 Lemon cut into wedges 1 Orange cut into wedges 1 Lime cut into wedges 2 Tbsp sugar Splash of orange juice or lemonade 2 Shots of gin or triple sec (optional) 1 Cup of raspberries or strawberries (may use thawed or frozen) 1 Small can of diced pineapples (with juice) 4 Cups ginger ale Preparation: Pour wine in the pitcher and squeeze the juice wedges from the lemon, orange and lime into the wine. Toss in the fruit wedges (leaving out seeds if possible) and pineapple then add sugar, orange juice and gin. Chill overnight. Add ginger ale, berries and ice just before serving. If you'd like to serve right away, use chilled red wine and serve over lots of ice. However, remember that the best Sangrias are chilled around 24 hours in the frig. - allowing the flavors to really marinate into each other.

Re: NFR: Sangria anyone?
Well I did it!! If only I could wish for something like my house to get cleaned and have the motivation like I did to get my hands on a SANGRIA. Funny...I was looking in my liquor cabinet for merlot when I stumbled apon sangria mix Yet I still went out and picked up the ingredients that you ladies mentioned. Looked like an al-key walking through the liquor store with my penguin pajamas on..but yummy was it worth it!! Thanks for the recipies!!
