Newborn toys
What kind of toys did you introduce to your 1-2 month old? I feel like its too early still for hand toys, I mean I don't think DS would be able to hold it in his hand and would probably end up hitting himself with it...and I don't have the crib or the mobile set up yet since he is sleeping in his co-sleeper next to my bed.

Re: Newborn toys
DS did not care for toys (except mobile) until he was 3 months or so.
Now he has fabric toys like the Lamaze warm, etc..

Re: Newborn toys
Even though he sleeps in our room we put him in the crib to watch the mobile. He loves it.

Re: Newborn toys
My DD liked her tiny love mobile, activity mats, the bar on her rainforest bouncer, and she liked rings (she got more into the rings closer to 2 months).

Re: Newborn toys
No real toys yet...he's too young at 7 weeks. And only starting last week did he really seem to enjoy the mobile in his crib. I've put him on the play mat also, and he likes it for a few minutes (longer if I lay with him, less if I walk away). Lately, the one thing that truly mesmerizes him is the TV

Re: Newborn toys
my nephew is 8 weeks old and DH and I gave him this toy last month. For whatever reason he absolutely LOVES it. It's the only toy that seems to calm him down when he's cranky. He trys to "talk" to it too. Very cute. My sister LOST it and they freaked out because it was his calming toy. I just sent her two more!

Oh same here...when DH feeds him in front of the TV sometimes he LOVES to just eat and stare at it...I guess its all the different strange sounds and colors...I guess I'll put the crib together and set up the mobile so that he can enjoy it during the day...

Re: Newborn toys
I just got my DD this to play tummy time with and when she is lying on back i show her.. she smiles at me in mirror. She doesnt play with it long and just stares at it but its something to get her eyes and mind going. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Newborn toys
At this stage all DS liked was his mobile...i would try to get him to hold onto a Sassy rattle, but he rarely would...i dont think they have that much coordination at that age

Re: Newborn toys
Sylvia -
Cailen had NO interest in toys at all until he was about 4 mts old - ead to him, play him music, talk to him.... You can show him black and white toys, wave them in front of him, but you wont see real interest until much later on!
