Newborn sleeping for a stretch of time before bed?

We've been feeding DS (who is 2 weeks old) his last bottle before bed around 8pm. The last 2 nights he slept for about an hour or two before that bottle then went down for bed very easily but didn't sleep well thru the night (wide awake between night-time feedings and didn't want to be put down and when he finally did go down, he slept for maybe an hour).

Is this just a coincidence? Or should we wake him (and try keeping him awake) for a little while before that last bottle in hopes that he'll sleep better between night-time feedings?

Thoughts, advice, exptertise????

At 2 weeks the word schedule is a joke. I wouldn't count on the hope of keeping him up longer is going to change anything. He wont have anything close to a real sched for a few months. You could try to maybe up an extra oz during a day feeding and then again at night and hope that may make him full a bit longer. But at this age it is really a big crap shoot.

Edited for freaking typos with this ipad.
