Newborn photo question
I never did this but I always wonder.. how do they get them to sleep like that? Aren't they cold? Don't they pee on everything?
I remember trying to do shoot when DS was first born.. he got cold and peed all over my comforter.

Re: Newborn photo question
comfy bean bags, heaters, soothing music, full tummy, newborns = sleeeeep.
my son didnt open his eyes once. we do not have a single shot with his eyes open! 3.5 hours, 100% sleep
oh, and yes, they do pee and poop this is where washable props come in handy - and lots of spare blankets!! its totally expected at a NB shoot
jack hosed down this blanket right after summer got this shot Image Attachment(s):

Re: Newborn photo question
Summer has heaters she uses. The baby is toasty warm.
And I've personally seen her get peed on.

Re: Newborn photo question
Yep they pee and sometimes poop Heaters work wonders along with some white noise. Also, they are more "bendy" and pliable before they're 2 weeks old, so that's the best time to do those pics.
My DS was 6 weeks at his shoot because he was a preemie and was in the hospital for a month. He was definitely not as cooperative as younger babies!

This made me LOL - it's like that dreaded pregnancy question all over again! "Yes, I did. No, no one cared."

Re: Newborn photo question
Same as what everyone else has said. Summer used a heating pad under the blankets and she also brings her sound machine. DD slept for almost the whole time. We got a couple shots withher eyes opened.
She pooped on this wrap.
