newborn clothing question

so i barely got any newborn sizes for my shower (which i guess is a good thing) but i feel like my dd will be in newborn sizes for a little bit

i have 3 sleep n plays
a onsie with matching leggings
and a pack of 5 onesies - not white

her take home outfit is also newborn but i want to put this away for when she is older so i dont want her to wear it again

i figured i would get a couple of leggings for the 5 pack of onesies but should i get a few more newborn sizes? I got plenty in sizes 0-3, 3 months and 3-6 months so can she wear some of the 0-3 months or can they not wear outfits that are a bit big?

thanks

Re: newborn clothing question

I woud skip the NB leggings and get a few more sleep and plays in NB. DS LIVED in those.

You can use the onesies under the sleep and plays. I feel like when they are that tiny, you won't really want to be fooling around w/ pants and a shirt, you know? I was really into one stop shopping clothing wise - it was so much easier.

Re: newborn clothing question

You may have not gotten any for your shower but people will most likely buy when your daughter is born. I have a ton of newborn things, a lot he's outgrown at 3w3d.

In short, I wouldn't buy anything till she's here.

ITA!

When they are that little its all about conveneince versus style. Sleep and Plays (zipper not snap), rompers, those are what you will want. They are easy for diaper changes, change of outfit, etc.

I think I have 6 sleep and plays for Chat Icon Chat Icon in newborn.

You will be able to use 0-3 months pretty much from the beginning as well.

Re: newborn clothing question

I didn't have much in NB for DS#1. The sleep and plays were essential and could be worn a little bigger. Also, some 0-3 clothing shrunk so much, they looked more like NB size. I found Circo brand, Little Me, and Gerber sleep and plays in 0-3 were much smaller than Carter's 0-3. When I organized my hand-me-downs for my twins, I put those smaller brands in 0-3 with my newborn clothes.
