'The Continuum Concept' by Jean Liedoff. It's more anthropology/psychology based than practical...but it can offer a deeper understanding of parenthood where any techniques you use just naturally surface place based on your instincts.

I have what to expect the first year and baby 411. I like them, they both have very practical real world stuff in them. But I wouldn't worry too much, when the time comes you won't really need a book
