I BF for the first 7 weeks and now she is formula fed but we just switched her formula about a week ago so I am wondering if all these changes are affecting her and causing the problem. she doesnt seem to be too uncomfortable.

Re: Newborn and pooping?

I have heard that for a BF baby, it's normal to go up to 4 days between poops. Not sure about FF, but my thinking is that if she's only skipping 1 day and she doesn't seem uncomfortable, it's probably fine. Are her poops normal consistency or like hard a pebble-like? If they're normal consistency, I wouldn't worry. If they're hard though, she may be constipated.

It's fine..I questioned the dr..as long as her poop is not bloody it is ok. What's most important is that ur DC has lots of pee diapers

Re: Newborn and pooping?

if she's not gassy or straining to poop.. then no worries, even if it takes a few days

Talk to your ped if it looks like she's constipated, they can suggest, adding a little water, or giving prune juice, our recommended chamomile tea - it works wonders for us

Her diapers are definitely full of pee every day. I heard that is the most important and that is definitely good. Her poop is a similar consistency whether it is every day or every other day. This is just something new - the every other day poop for the last few days - and was just curious if I should be concerned. thank you for all the advice

ETA_ she is passing gas but doesn't not seem to be straining to poop or in any pain
