Newbie here!
Hi everyone!
I found out last Sunday before going away with DH's family that I was PG! I have been dying this past week to tell someone and I am so excited to share the great news with all of you. We started TTC last month and bam!! Being the neurotic nelly I am, I took about 10 HPT and they were all postive and AF is a week late!!
This is my first and I am excited, nervous, scared etc. I lost my mom a couple of years ago and have no sisters so I hope you all don't mind if I pick your brains for advice and help.
First question - What do I do now??
Second question- What to eat and not eat??
Third question- Bloating and cramping - is this normal???
Thanks in advance!!
Also, what books about pregnancy would you recommend! Thanks!

Re: Newbie here!
Congratulations!!!
Unfortunately I have no advice for you. I just found out myself last friday and I wanted to say that I know exactly how you feel about being so excited and ready to explode and not being able to tell anyone.
I've been waking up every morning like "is this for real?" and of course overanalyzing anything I feel. I took 3 tests and got all BFP's but until the doctor says so, I am a little hestitant to really let myself believe it.
I have my first doctor's appointment to confirm on Monday so until then, I'll be a nervous and excited wreck. For the time being I've been checking out pregnancy week by week websites just for info.
I've found these to be pretty interesting.

As for food, I'm basically avoiding any fish, rare/raw meats, uncooked eggs, and soft cheeses for now.
I totally know how it's really scary not knowing what to do.
I plan on getting the book What to Expect When You Are Expecting as soon as the Dr. confirms.
Good luck to you and hope you have a happy & healthy 9 months!!!

Re: Newbie here!
Welcome!
I only found out on Aug 10th that I was PG, so I can only be of some help to you.
I can't wait to tell our families and close friends too, but we're going to wait until after our 1st doctor's appointment to tell our parents. We will probably wait to tell friends until around the 12th week.
First thing is to call your OB and set up an appointment.
You can drive yourself crazy about what you can and cannot eat. I would stay away from raw fish and cold cuts. I would minimize intake of caffeine and foods high in salts/fats.
I'm roughly 5 weeks, and I do feel some bloating and cramping, so I assume this is "normal"!
Lots of luck to you!
