I am still in shock and kinda not believing it right now but super excited!!!!!!!! DH and I really weren't trying but definately were hoping everytime and it finally happened!!!! My biggest question is do you wait to tell people until the doctors appt or can you start telling close friends and family now.. I really can't hold it in but Im aware that things can happen so just kinda need advice.. IM FREAKIN OUT!!!! Need support.. Thx

Re: New to this board.. BFP
congrats!!!

When to tell people is a personal decision. i was so excited i wanted to tell the world, but then was so scared of miscarrying so we waited until after our first appt (at 7 weeks) and then told a few close people. Once we hit the 12 week mark (the NT scan) we decided to tell everyone. it really depends on what you are comfortable it.

First of all - CONGRATS!!!
I personally was NOT able to keep my big mouth shut and within a few days of my BFP I told pretty much everyone. But a lot of people do wait until after the 1st trimester. (I would have, but had no self control over my excitment)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
You can start telling people whenever you are comfortable! We told my siblings and some close friends but waited to tell our parents until we were out of the first trimester. It's all a personal preference.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! when you tell people, like pp said, is a personal decision. I was super scared of miscarrying, so even though i was seeing a RE an was seeing the baby developing correctly, i was terrified to tell anyone until i was almost 9w, well after we heard the heartbeat. now that we have gotten back our NT Scan results and I am 14w, we feel more comfortable about telling our extended family, although since i'm not showing yet, i haven't said anything to the people at work.

Re: New to this board.. BFP
I am overly excited and have a big mouth!! I can't contain myself but I know I should cause it doesn't really feel like I am pregnant until I go to the doctor but my friend says once you see that BFP you are pregnant so I have mixed emotions!!! I really feel like I don't want to wait to tell close friends and family but Im only about 4 weeks so its soooo early!!!AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Congratulations!!!!
I personally haven't told anyone, but I'm scared something will go wrong. I'll probably start telling my family around 10-12 weeks and the rest when I almost can't hide it anymore

I'm the same way..its so hard not to tell the world! We ended up waiting until 6 weeks and told our parents, then at 7 weeks our extended families. Pretty much by then all the important people knew.

You can tell people whenever you feel like it! I told my immediate family (mom, dad & siblings) at 4 weeks. Then I was told I was having a miscarriage , but then a week later they told me that I should treat myself as if I'm still pregnant... So we told DH's family after the 6 week sono showed a heartbeat. I'm 16 weeks now and still haven't told everyone because I'm so nervous still. I have an appointment tomorrow with the dr and then gender determination, so I think we'll make our big announcement after we find out everything is good!

Congrats!!! It is a personal choice like everyone says. We told our parents and siblings right away and waited to tell everyone else til we heard the heartbeat.

Re: New to this board.. BFP
Congrats!
Telling people is totally a personal decision. The way I looked at it, is if you'd tell people you had a m/c and want support from them, then go ahead and tell them sooner than later.
For us, we told our immediate families after a blood test confirmed the BFP. I was under the care of an RE, so I had lots of monitoring up front. After we saw the gestational and yolk sacs, I told CLOSE family (aunt, uncle and cousin) only b/c I wanted to tell them in person. After we heard the heartbeat, I began telling my very close friends. It was only after my first trimester and my NT scan (~12 weeks) that we started telling friends and co-workers.
A lot can happen, especially in the very early weeks of pregnancy, so just be sure that you want people to know before you tell them.
