New protocol and retrieval next week

Im really nervous because Im on a new protocol, lovenox, baby aspirin, gonal-F, Lupron and the one I truly hate prednisone. It is a quick IVF cycle and if everything goes as plan I will have my retrieval next week. Im hoping this cycle is the one that works for me and Im trying not to get stressed out over it. I nervous about the lovenox too because I heard it stings and leaves bruises. Anyway change can be good so ill try and stay positive. Could use some prayers. Thanks

you will get used to lovenox. here are my tips for it:

1. ice the area for AT LEAST 5 minutes directly with an ice cube. make sure its GOOD and numb.

2. squeeze the area. some people say no, but i swear by it. oddly enough i also find that if i inject into areas where im bloated, it hurts less.

3. inject at a 45 degree angle. make sure the needle point is the part that you are piercing the skin with.

4. THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE OF LOVENOX - INJECT SLLLLLLOOOOOWWWLLLLYYYY!!!!! The first time I did it I thought it would be like a normal inject. MAN was I in shock and pain. it hurt SOOO bad for a half hour afterwards I emailed Dr. B to make sure I hadn't done something wrong. Then I googled and found out that if you inject slow, it reallllllly helps the burning. When I say slow, I mean SLOW. Like inject a little and if it starts to burn then stop for a sec, let the burn fade, then inject a little more, slooooowlllly, and keep doing that until you get through the syringe.

and yes, the air bubble is normal, and it does feel weird going in. its almost like when you get to the bottom of a slurpee..

anyway, good luck with the rest of your protocol as well!! you'll be a pro at lovenox after a few tries, dont be worried!!

FlowerWife you are the best! I knew you would have advice when it came to the lovenox. Im actually waiting for it to be delivered. between 7 and 11 and I wish it would come soon. You said 45 degree angle so don't hold it the way I do the other needles? I will be reading this when I give it to myself later.
