New Protocol
I just got a call from my nurse. She wanted to find out what I'm doing. I'm waiting for my May cycle b/c my insurance kicks in on April 28th and I wanted to use my insurance.
Anyway, she told me I am going to be on a completley different protocol!!! I am so nervous now. I thought she would just tweak the last one a little bit but no, completely different. Last time I did menopur and then ganirelix. I had 11 eggs but only 4 were mature. SO, this time I still start off with the BCP's but I'll be taking repronex and follistim - both intramuscular! She said the RE is trying to get a better response this time. Then they'll add the ganirelix. I don't know why I am so nervous about this.
I'm also worried that the meds are going to be very expensive. Too expensive. My insurance won't cover the meds. I figured our out of pocket based on the menopur I used last time. I'll wait to get my calendar and see. I just hope we can afford this.

Yes, I'm pretty sure they are both FSH hormones and if not exactly the same, very similar. Just different name brands.

When I took Follistim last cycle, it was sub-cutaneous - I guess it must be different for everyone - When I had no med insurance last cycle, we used Kraupners and got a discount..The Follistim was a bit pricey- your RE's office might have some donated back meds...Good Luck !
