New phone & plan
I need to get a new cell phone and am considering switching service as well. I've pretty much always had an iPhone with Verizon, but am looking for suggestions and recommendations. Anyone know anything about the new Google Pixel 2 phone? It looks interesting. (I do not need the latest and greatest phone - but I don't want "old technology" either - something in between, I guess)
Thanks!
ETA: I don't really want a "big" phone. The phone I have now is the iPhone 6S. I also have the 6 Plus for work, so I can always use that if I want a big phone

New phone & plan
We've been looking at new phone plans. My DH and I want the Google Pixel 2. T-mobile had the best plan pricing, and I think it would give us half the cost of the Pixel back. It also gives you all the features of the phone unlocked. We're just not sure about how T-Mobile's service coverage. AT&T, which we currently have, locks certain features of the phone, including wi-fi calling, which we both use a lot. I think Verizon might lock it too, but I don't remember. I think AT&T's and Verizon's plans were about the same price, but we're grandfathered into our current AT&T plan, which is still pretty cheap.
If it were just us, we'd switch to T-mobile and see how service is, but unfortunately we share our plan with my in-laws who are resisting making a change even though it was there idea to look around.

Why do they lock some of the phones features? I'm not very tech savy when it come to this kind of thing.
And I'm just doing a single line plan - TMobile is pretty pricey for one line

Re: New phone & plan
I've had t-mobile for years. They've had wi-fi calling for about 10 years now, I use that all the time. At my house, nobody gets good reception, but my t-mobile phone always does because I just use the wi-fi signal.
I've never had any real issue with cell coverage, and if I do, most other providers do as well. Plus, with the wi-fi calling, I can almost always find a hot spot.

Do you know how the service/reception/coverage is for either of those?

I believe boost is covered by sprint. not sure about cricket.
no sure about the other questions. Someone else on this site mentioned it and I'm thinking of this too, its unlimited text, talk etc.

My mom just got Cricket. The salesman said Cricket is AT&t without the contract, Boost is Sprint without the contract and PCS is T-Mobile without the contract. No complaints from my mom so far. She got a free phone for switching from another carrier but the choices for the free phones are limited.

Since my phone is fine and I just paid it off, I decided to stay with Verizon - just changed to a plan with less data, because I wasn't using what I was paying for. But, I'm still thinking about getting the Google Pixel phone, even though I really don't need a new phone - if I trade in my current phone, I'll get 1/2 off, which seems to be a pretty good deal.
