New Orleans
DH and I have finally decided where we want to go for our anniversary- New Orleans
We've been reading up on hotels, what attractions are a must do etc but I'd love to hear some first hand experiences from you ladies on here.
Ideally we'd like to stay in/near the french quarter, so anyone have any suggestions of which hotels we should check out?

Re: New Orleans
Great place to go! We loved the Marriot in French Quarter, perfect location and the rooms were really nice and reasonably priced.
When you guys are going to go around town, get a day pass for the Trolley - it can take you through the entire town and it's lovely, especially the Garden District. Theres so many good restaurants --- Acme was our favorite with their charbroiled oysters
We went on Bourbon street around 4pm one day and were there late into the night. I drank a hurricane, that was enough to knock me out - try and get some beads (I kept it rated PG ) but it gives you that whole vibe haha.
So many great people - I love the spirit of that town - you guys will have an amazing time! Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

Re: New Orleans
I haven't been since graduating college, but I did a boat dinner on the Natchez (sp?)
Spent a looooong night on bourbon (complete with a tattoo, it was planned to do there though)
It was May, and yet very Happening.
ENJOY! I want to go back with my DH!

Re: New Orleans
I just came back from there. We stayed at the JW Marriott on Canal street. It was a beautiful hotel with a great staff. Everything is within walking distance which is great. The best restaurant we ate at was K Paul's on Royal. The food was AMAZING and a bit expensive but sooooo worth it. The trolley ride down St. Charles is a must do. Hurricanes from Pat O'Briens are amazing and strong LOL. Any specific questions feel free to ask. Have a great trip.

We stayed at the JW as well. It's quiet enough so you can get some rest but close enough so you don't have to walk far.
There used to be a diner around the corner where we went for breakfast. Forget the name, not even sure if it's still there.
I second the trolley/garden district tour and the other bar and restaurant recs's! Have fun!
