New Long Island Teachers- Medical Exam?
I have to get a medical - I can understand TB but I also have to get a full physical- with a urinalysis!!!
Is that another name for a drug test? I have no worries at all- but I am just curious.
Does anyone else have to get something like this?

Both times I got tenured and when I got hired I had to do the same thing. They want to make sure you are in good health.

I had to do it before my district hired me....but that was 6 years ago....so I dont know if it is something new, just maybe the district.

I had to have a physical and a TB test. No urinealysis that I remember.

I had a complete physical when I got my job in August..and at my expense at their doctor.

I would think that if they are doing a drug test, they would have to use their doctors. Anything your doctor would do, I would imagine, would be confidential under doctor-patient privilege and you would have to know about it.

I believe you have to be informed if it is a drug test....the urine test is for proteins and sugar levels in your urine.
