New Here...and a Question
Hello Ladies...I have been lurking on this site for a few days and decided to take the plunge. My husband and I have been TTC for about a year and it has been an emotional roller coaster! A quick recap - diagnosed with PCOS after going off of birth control pills - tried to rounds of clomid 50mg and 100mg with my gyno. 50 didn't work - I did ovulate on 100 - but no pregnancy. He then referred me to RSONY - Dr. San Roman. I took alittle break inbetween and since have done a round of 100 and 150 of clomid - neither worked. We had thought I ovulated on 100 and had a trigger shot - but it was a cyst
Now 150mg hasn't worked and they just put me back on provera. They want me to start 250 mg clomid - OMG! Has anyone ever taken that high of a dose? Clomid gives me some hot flashed and my husband tells me I am a lunatic (lol). I am thinking I should start injectables? Any thoughts?
I am currently going to acupuncture with Andy Kaplan - who is great - and am going to start and Isagenix cleanse on Monday. Starting to feel a little lost...so I am hoping being able to vent on this site will help. Had to deactivate my facebook account and google has become my enemy. My husband and friends mean well - but I feel like this is all I want to talk about! It's nuts! Would love to hear about anyones experiences at 250 mg clomid...or if you think I should ask for injectables.
Sorry for the rambling - feel like I have a lot that I just need to get out!

Re: New Here...and a Question
I also started off with chlomid and gradually went up to 250 - I was completely unresponsive, never ovulated. My doctor wanted to move on to injectibles and gave me the option to do IUI or IVF. His theory was that if you were going to take all of the injectibles you might as well go for IVF because the success rate is significantly increased (as is the cost, but I am lucky to have full coverage) so that was the option I went with. I achieved a pregnancy after my first IVF attempt, but sadly miscarried at 10 weeks. Now I just completed rond 2 and will find out my result on Wed.
I think it's best to explore all your options and then figure out with your doctor what will be best for you. Good luck to you!

Re: New Here...and a Question
Just wanted to welcome you and say Good Luck!
Some women don't resond to Clomid, so it might be time to move onto injectibles. Also, Clomid can affect your lining, so I wouldn't continue to use it if you're not getting the desired outcome.

Re: New Here...and a Question
Wecome! Some women with PCOS never respond to Clomid. In fact, it's quite common from what I read on SoulCysters, a PCOS site. Has your doctor thought about Femara? After struggling with infertility for a year, I finally went to see Dr. Braverman. I did one cycle on Femara/Glucophage/Dexamethasone and am 22 weeks along with our first baby. Don't get discouraged, although I know its hard not to. feel free to FM me if you have any questions!

Re: New Here...and a Question
if clomid hasn't been working for you i would go straight to injectables at this point. they are way more of a guarantee and PCOSers respond very well to them (sometimes TOO well before the correct dose is determined). IMO wouldn't waste anymore time on clomid. good luck!

Re: New Here...and a Question
Thanks so much for your responses. I think at my next appt I am going to ask to try injectables. Would love to have one more solid try before going back to work in September. Hoping my app't with Andy Kaplan today will help bring on my period and get this bus moving:)
