neutered dogs
So, my dog is neutered and since tries to hump things. Is this normal?? It's mostly after he eats dinner I thought they weren't supposed to do this after they are neutered.

Re: neutered dogs
I'm not sure if I should comment here after the last post (OUCH!) but yes, it is normal but you shouldn't allow it- he should be corrected each time he does it-

Re: neutered dogs
I did not read the last post, but thank you for commenting back We do stop it, I just wasn't sure if it was normal. I thought after they were neutered it stopped. Thank you

Re: neutered dogs
Being neutered and humping something are completely unrelated. Dogs "hump" legs and other things to show their "alpha male" status, it has nothing to do with "sex". In all honesty, animals don't associate any kind of emotion with "sex", it is merely procreation, so the fact that your little fido is still humping things is just his way of asserting his alpha status.
You should undoubtedly discourage this behavior as you want him to know YOU are the alpha in the house, he is not. And of course, you don't want to be the people on the block with the dog that humps your leg!
