Nervous when I sleep...
Because I have a baby on each side, I get nervous during the night when I sleep. I change from my right to left side and I feel like whatever side I am on I am squishing a baby or somehow applying pressure to the umbilical cord or something. Is this even possible? It get so nervous that it wakes me up all night long

Re: Nervous when I sleep...
keep in mind, they're both floating in a giant cushiony pool.... so they're protected. Also, we've lasted millenia not thinking about where the cord is floating, so I'm sure it doesn't matter....
that being said, I'm a bit neurotic like that too... at my growth sono, I asked where the placenta was (just in case it was to one side). Mine is towards the back by my spine, so either side is fine

I don't think you have anything to worry about- I switch sides all night too. I don't think its too easy to squish the babies - they are very well protected by the uterus and amniotic fluid.

Re: Nervous when I sleep...
I am 24 weeks now and when I lay on one side or the other sometimes they will kick me, I assume to let me know they don't like that position! So I turn. As I tell my Dh there is no comfortable position, chair, bed, etc. Its constant discomfort with twins

Are you far enough along that if they were uncomfortable they would kick you?
Is that a stupid assumption? - I mean, once they're BORN they'll find a way to tell you if they're uncomfortable, so maybe when they're in there they can do the same?

Re: Nervous when I sleep...
Last night I was laying on my right side and kept kicking and moving around...so I switched sides and she stopped. I always worry that I'm squishing something when I lay to the side, but I guess everything is just fine.

Re: Nervous when I sleep...
I worry about the same thing. I usually sleep on my left side, but sometimes I have to move a little and change to my right side. When I do kicks and moves a lot so I assume he is on that side and doesnt like the extra pressure. I am sure we are fine though. We have to sleep somehow!

Re: Nervous when I sleep...
Your babies are well protected in there. Your body will let you know if you're not in a good position. I can't lie on my right side at all. It becomes very uncomfortable almost immediately. I also get uncomfortable sometimes when I end up on my back in the middle of the night. I wouldn't worry about it.
