I have to go for a colonscopy on Thursday...I am a nervous wreck...
First of all, I have never been put under, and I am being put under for this procedure...
Second of all, I am just nervous about whatever rsults might come out of this...(not that I am expecting anything, but I am still a bag of nerves)
Third of all, TBAF is on her way...I feel like I am going to be sick to my stomach...how can I have that and have the procedure too?
And I have to do a liquid diet tomorrow, and the drink tomorrow night..I hate jello and I hate broth...but I have to eat because I need food in my body to take my medications, and I cannot eat or drink anything till after the test, and I am not scheduled till 9:30...not even water!
I guess it just sucks to be me right about now

That stinks. My dad went through this a couple of weeks ago. Sorry you have to deal with this.

I had one in August... the prep was the worst part... try to sleep through most of the day because once you drink that stuff you will be up all night But getting put under is fine... it goes so quick, one minute you are couting back from 10, then next you are waking up and it is all over with...

try to relax. it blows but it will be over soon enough.
I've had a few..ask for the fleet phospho soda prep rather than the half lytely..it's small amt to drink and over quickly.
Which prep did they give you?
I didn't take my meds on the prep day.

I ahve the gatorade/miralax prep. Well, I cannot do gatorade, so I have to do crystal light....

Honestly, the prep is the worst. You won't remember anything about the procedure itself except getting an IV. Good luck!

yeah, my doctor told me I have to go back to his office in 4 weeks becuase he likes to follow up with his patients...
I have never been under anesthesia before...not even as a child, so this makes me even more on edge...dammit!

I also had one in December. Try not to worry too much. I was nervous too, but like everyone else said, the prep is the worst part. Really try to get the phospho soda!!!! You can buy it at the drug store, I think. Put it in the fridge till it's really cold and then drink it mixed in soda or clear juice. Then have a lemon wedge ready and bite into that after you drink to get rid of the taste. It's pretty disgusting and made me naseous, but you only have to drink two doses.
I also drank milkshakes the night before, which are yummy and allowed!

ps- my mom is a GI nurse, she gave me those tips.
