neighborhood

when DH and i were looking to purchase a home a huge draw for us was the neighborhood in which the home is located. We choose our home based on yes the house and it being most of what we wanted but a huge plus was the neighborhood.

I just came home to the most beautiful not to meantion huge mum in a gorgeous pot on my front steps with a letter on it that says welcome to the neighborhood signed by our next door neighbors. there 8 year old daughter even drew us a pumpkin!!!

sooo happy we bought where we did!!! feels just like the neighborhood I grew up in

Re: neighborhood

That is so sweet! I always say that when/if we ever get new neighbors I want to do something like this for them. When we moved into our house almost 2 years ago no one did ANYTHING. It was months before we even got a hello and introduction from anyone, and even then we've only met the people across the street. Granted our houses aren't at all close together but still! The people to the left have never said a word to us and the wife on the right once brought us a package that was wrongly delivered to her house. This was our first encounter and all she said (with a scowl on her face) "They keep leaving your stuff at our house" as she dropped the package on our porch and left. Very nice but strange neighborhood we live in. Chat Icon

Re: neighborhood

Awww Very nice

We got a warm welcome from our neighbors too when we moved here. Sweet, friendly, helpful. One of the older men, he's retired, takes in my garbage cans for me.

They are all sweet - we are very lucky.

Enjoy your new home :) and your nice neighbors
