Re: needle disposal
you can take them to the hospital for disposal or health dept. altenatively i have been told in the past since they are in a sharps container you can put them in the regular trash for them to dispose them correctly.

Re: needle disposal
I was given a pretty big container so i just kept it in my closet for months and kept adding to it - then when i didn't need it anymore, i brought it to my RE's office and they disposed of it for me
definitely don't put it in the garbage

Re: needle disposal
I live in Town of Islip. I was told by the department of sanitation to put them in a hard plastic bottle like a detergent or bleach bottle. Add a little bleach at the bottle and clearly mark the bottle "sharps". Then you just put it at the curb with the regular garbage pick up. I got rid of 2 years of Lovenox syringes this way.

Re: needle disposal
My RE's office won't take my container.
Here is a link with info on where you can take them in nassau county. Page 8 is where the listing the locations starts. Hospitals in NY are required to take your sharps containers but sometimes you have to call ahead and some only take them on certain days.Click here
