Needing stitches while pregnant?

I was doing dishes earlier and a glass broke and cut my pinky pretty bad, it's pretty deep but we cleaned it up and tried to put the flap back into place and do gauze with triple A and medical tape but 3 hours later(now) i took the bandage off and every movement moves the flap so i don't think it's going to heal right, im pretty sure i need stitches but am i gonna have to sit through the pain of them opening the flap to look around and stitching it with no pain medication, will they be able to do anything for pain while they stitch it back into place?? Im so upset....perfect timing, i still have cupcakes and DH birthday cake to make and gouse cleaning before DH's 30th birthday party tomorrow...

You can still get lidocaine, but without epinephrine. However, since its a finger they wouldn't use lido with epi anyway. If you need the sutures, then you need it.

I stepped on a piece of glass when I was pregnant and they had to xray it and dig it out (it was 1/4 inch up in my heel). They gave me a local for my foot and I refused the tetanus, but OB said it was fine, so I had to go back to my GP for the shot.

I had plastic surgery on my face while pregnant. My surgery was preapproved for lidocaine without epinephrine. I was allowed Tylenol after for pain. I got about 50 stitches, so you should be fine! Good luck!!
