need undergarments for a BM dress... on the larger side.
i haven't been there for a fitting yet, but when i called to make the appt, the seamstress said i must bring my bra. they sell them @ the dress shop if i cant find one.
she stressed NOT to get a 1 piece slip thing, that apparently it doesn't work well with an evening dress. she said to get a long line bra, then a high waisted panty or spanx shorts or something to go over the bottom of the bra.
I'm a big girl and i need my gut sucked in.
Any specific recs?

eta: i'd REALLY prefer that the shorts have a pee flap. i have to go so often when i drink

Have you tried Blums in Patchogue? They have lots of great long-line bras in all sizes.

Lane Bryant sells Spanx that have the pee flap. Just bought a pair the other day!!!
Mary's Corsetiere in Woodbury is a good place for bras.

The Spanx Higher Power have a pee flap. I usually wear them over a Flexess waist cincher, but if you are going to wear a long line bra, if will have the same effect. They really do come up high, so it smooths out any gut below the long line bra & any boning in the bra.

went to georgette's - such cute old ladies! they hooked me up (literally) in 15 minutes! i walked out the door with exactly what i needed. and it was actually comfortable!

I think my mom went there for my wedding.
I love the old lady bra stores. It is so much easier than trying to figure things out on my own.
