Need Travel Toy Recommendations
We are flying to Seattle in a few weeks - direct. So that means 6 hours with a 2 year old.
I am HOPING he falls asleep at some point since we will be traveling in the evening.
I want to bring a backpack for him filled with some small toys that travel well and will keep him entertained.
I plan on bringing a portable DVD player with a new Thomas the Train video for him to watch.
I also bought him a small notepad and stamp set, some small trucks, and coloring books.
Anything else that was a hit with your children on long trips? I don't plan on givingthem to him all at once. I want to save some for the return flight as well.

DVD player worked wonders for us. Bring some videos he has and loves too PLUS 1-2 new ones.
New small toys are fun. Maybe a Melissa & Doug letter puzzle?
Some books, small electronic toys (some new ones?), small cars/trucks (if he's into that). if you have an Ipad or Nook/Kindle.. maybe bring that and let him play some games on there?

Re: Need Travel Toy Recommendations
AJ loved the Aquadoodle! OMG best ever. She didn't get to see it until we got on the plane and she got ansy.
Also not seen until the ride was a plane and cars.
We also packed snacks for her.
We recorded her normal TV shows on DVD as well in case she wanted a crutch. I think we had a total of 3 dvds with us. Plus both of our phones and an itouch with games on them.
We had a longer flight. San Antonio to Hawaii, she was 2yrs and 3m at the time.
