need some landscaping ideas (pic)
Here is the front of our house. I wanted to put some hydrangea bushes next to each side of the stairs, but i don't know what else to do.
Should i do some sort of bushes that are low maintenance or more flowers (if so, what kind)? Of course the front of our house only gets sun in the morning and gets shade during the afternoon.
Please help! I'm desperate and so not good at this!

Thanks!
I think it would look even better with some landscaping! But i am so not creative like that, nor do i know anything about plants/flowers! I usually tend to kill them instead.

Keep in mind hydrangea bushes are bare in the winter...just sticks
you might want to do something with more greenery

i think some low flower beds are nice... wouldn't want to cover up that gorgeous porch. i think it needs a pop of color, which the flowers would provide. with the color of your house, i'd love to see some poppy colored flowers! good luck!

Re: need some landscaping ideas (pic)
im thinking a walk way from the street up to the porch. Along side of that some seasonal flowers/brick. then some mini bushes and flowers in fron of the porch. Maybe a weeping cherry on one side?

We actually have a walkway that goes to the driveway (old pic). But i like your thoughts! I was thinking seasonal flowers along it as well and i was thinking of a cherry tree on the right side. I wouldn't want to put it on the left side and then have the petals falling in our neighbors yard. It would be one more thing for them to complain about!
Any ideas on what kinds of flowers? Or should i just go down to the nursery and scout them out?

Well Hosta's do great in the shade. They come in all different types of leaf color. I have more in my Garden Album.
Japense Forest Grass - good in shade
I believe this is Golden Cypress
Ask you local nursey or do a search on the net for Shade Plants. GL!
