need some help finding end tables
i'm trying to find matching end tables for the living room. we bought a brown leather coach & cocktail ottoman. our area rug is light with some pattern & the walls are beige.
i am not a big fan of glass. do i get brown side tables as well or will the room look too dark with all the brown??i saw some i liked at pottery barn. should i get a lighter wood?
ugh i'm so confused still have a lot to learn about decorating!!
thanks !

I suggest dark ones. They would stand out nicely from your light walls and rug. The Pottery Barn ones are probably very nice. Just be sure they go well with your couch, colorwise. Leathers can vary a lot in shades of brown.
My daughter did her NYC apt in Pottery Barn outlet stuff and when a young editor at a high end mag walked in she was astonished by how great it looked. The wood pieces were in that dark expresso color.

Re: need some help finding end tables
i dont' have any pics or links but what about finding tables with stone tops? if you could find them, bet two with nice polished marble would look great, depending on the color of the stone.

Re: need some help finding end tables
I think you could actually do lighter tables. Either cream or white might work depending on what your rug color is. I like the look of different woods or colors together.
Check out thes pics for inspiration. See how the different lighter and darker colors go well in the room together. So if you had some lighter pieces in your room it wouldn't make the room feel to heavy or dark.
And here are some with the darker furniture. Still a great look. It all depends on the look you are going for in your room.

Try looking at JC Penny also - we have both Pottery Barn and JC Penney tables and IMO the quality is comparable between the two, but JC Penney is cheaper

Re: need some help finding end tables
Your welcome.
For pic upload. You put them on your computer, than go to the "My Family" (on the top header), go to "My Photo Albums" on the drop down menu. Then go to Upload pics. You can download 6 pics at a time into an album. Sorry, first you need to make a new album to put the pics into. You can just direct everyone to your album if you want. Otherwise you need to right click on the picture in your album and copy and paste the URL from the Properties area from that pic. I hope that makes sense.

Re: need some help finding end tables
we had this same issue. i was afraid of hardwood tables with brown leather b/c they would make the room too dark and enclosed.
we ended up with these glass tables that have sturdy wood legs from raymour. keeps the room open and airy
