Need some good advice

So, was on a cruise last week and was supposed to get AF the day I left for it - she never showed. Halfway through I took a test (since all tests @ home before were negative) and lo & behold it was positive. Came home on Thursday, took a digi and again positive.. so I'm thinking, YAY! Well, I called to get the scripts for the blood work since after my first mc I am always skeptical.

Yesterday morning, I was out with DH and had some slight cramping and found some brown blood. Minor cramping on and off all day yesterday and today, and today I've had some red blood (both times only when I wipe)... so I'm pretty sure I'm having another mc. It sucks to think like this but I need be realistic about the situation.

DH and I have only been trying for about 5 months, but after 2 mc's, I don't think I want to wait another 7 before getting more answers.... Any recommendations?

Re: Need some good advice

First of all, I would NOT assume that this is a loss. Definitely get in for beta checks ASAP and take it easy while you are spotting/bleeding. I've had pregnancies where I bled so much as CLOTS - even with this pregnancy I GUSHED blood and the baby was fine. You really just never know.

If you do go the route of needing to see someone, Dr.Braverman and Dr.Tortoriello both specialize in helping women with multiple losses. Hopefully neither of those men will be necessary!

Good luck!

I agree with Penny (of course!)
I already wrote this on your other post but you may not be miscarrying. Many women have bleeding during the beginning weeks. Good luck and try and stay positive! Has the bleeding increased?

I bled early on with DS. I would call your OB and have them send you for bloodwork.

If you end up having another miscarriage, I would see a specialist.

Has the bleeding slowed down? You should take it easy just in case.

ITA. But I'd also stress getting your progesterone level checked ASAP. It's possible you have low progesterone, which leads to the bleeding. Going on a supplement could prevent it and help you carry the baby to term.

Good luck!

Agree! Brown blood is old blood,...so I was told it was ok. Also...check out Dr. Kofinas...he is MFM but will see you before pregnancy and during. The man is a genius! But then again so is Dr. B in my eyes!Chat Icon

Yeah... I'd be shocked as .. well you know the phrase ... to find out I'm NOT mc'ing. Bleeding got very heavy last night, as did the cramps. I passed a bunch of tissue and clots, and it's just like a regular old period now (just like last time). I went for the first blood work Friday because the second I saw the BFP I requested it, so I'm going for the second HCG this morning basically just to confirm what I already know. I just hope it's something easy. I'm going to be calling my office immediately this morning as well to see if they can add the progesterone to the bloodwork to check.... Probably going to take some time off though, I really can't handle another loss, even though these are early, it's just way too hard.

I'm so sorry if it is a MC. Chat Icon But I'd say now is the perfect time to see an RE. The fact that you can get pregnant is a good sign. The RE will work on getting you to stay pg. Hopefully it's a simple fix, like just low progesterone.
